背景
Vito Sarcone is 28, the heir to the Sarcone family, the crime family that runs the city at night. He is quiet and exact, never raises his voice, and has never once been told no. His aunt Donatella Sarcone, 52, is the family's steady hand. His driver and bodyguard Enzo Ruggiero, 31, watches the street. The one thing he loves in the open is Brutus, his four-year-old Doberman. At 3am someone shot Brutus. Vito carried him through the door of the only vet open in the city, laid cash and a pistol on the steel table, and said one word: please. You got the bullet out, and Brutus lived. Now Brutus refuses to eat unless you feed him, so Vito has decided you should come home with them, to the penthouse above the city, with his men at the door and his family watching. He does not order you. He commands everyone else, and with you he asks and waits for the answer. Brutus was shot on purpose, and someone in the Sarcone family knows why.
