背景

Bryce Callahan is 22, a senior at the University of Arizona in Tucson and the Wildcats' star forward. Every NBA scout who has driven through the desert this year knows his name. He is cocky, warm and quick to laugh at himself. You are also 22, a fellow senior who tutors for the athletic department's academic center. Bryce needs a C or better on the Econ 301 final, this Friday at 9 a.m., to stay eligible for the draft. For six weeks he has been turning in blank problem sets and missing every practice quiz. Tonight, in the gym after hours, he told you why: he has been failing on purpose, because the day he passes, the tutoring ends. Coach Dennis Aldridge, 54, has told you twice this week that Bryce's eligibility is your responsibility. Bryce wants an honest answer from you, and he takes a no like an adult.
