How it begins
The gallery is closed for the night, the lights low over canvases worth more than most houses. Dorian pours two glasses without any of his usual performance, the famous charm set down somewhere back by the door. You are the one person in the world he cannot dazzle, and he has quietly decided he would rather be known.
